There's no day like a snow day (by Tye)

(or the 72 degree day after your snow day)
On Monday, we made the drive up north to go play in the snow (to Flagstaff). With all the recent storms, there was plenty of snow. There were also plenty of people who had the same idea. Despite all the traffic and crowds, I think we made some memorable experiences for the kids. Below are some highlights.
Carter started off pretty good. He was having a good time, except that he wasn't too excited about the return walks up the hill. A little later, on the big hill, he walked across the bottom of the run towards dad. Dad was in the process of gather up all of Emily's parts after a wipe out. Suddenly (as if we should be surprised) a large double tube with two full grown men come barrelling down the hill. I quickly grabbed Emily to move her out of the way. Luckily, they turned at the last minute. I turned to watch them, at full speed, completely take out this little kid in a red jacket. Luckily, the men were smart and they scooped him up as he bounced into the air. Then I realized it was Carter. He wasn't hurt, but he was certainly done with sledding. And here I am, the bad Dad holding his older sister out of the way. (to be fair, I didn't know he was making his way across the bottom of the run and his mom had told him to stay next to her).

Here is Carter's "Snowman" after he is done with sledding.
Kyle always aimed for the biggest jumps and holes. He got the most screams (from other moms and grandmas) from the top of the hill. Somehow, he never got hurt.
Emily had a lot of fun. She had a few crashes that she didn't enjoy and pooped out a little earlier than the others.
Allison did great. She couldn't get enough of the hills.
Below are some video clips. Unfortunately, we only took some pictures/videos at the very beginning. They got braver as the day wore on and there some heroic runs made. Enjoy:
Kyle and Emily up close and personal. The first kid they try to take out is Carter. The second is just some kid.

Here is Kyle bowling for some kids. Oh, well... maybe he can pick up the spare.

Here is Emily hitching a ride with Carter. She makes it most of the way down the hill before falling off.
