Allison, Emily, and Kyle competed in a triathlon on Saturday. Emily did the 400m swim, Allison did the 12.5 mile bike ride, and Kyle did the 5 k (3.1 mile) run.
They have been training for this for several months and they did very well.
Kyle's run started next. He passed a lot of the ladies (the relay teams go at the same time as the ladies, so there were hardly any guys on the course). We were standing around after and heard some lady say "yea, well I got passed by some 10 year old kid", then she turned around and saw Kyle and said"there he is", then congratulated him. Kyle has been doing a lot of running at school and at home.
April, Carter, and I served as support team. Besides just cheering on the sidelines and taking pictures, we also helped in the preparation. I went out on bikes with Allison a lot. I've been taking Emily in the evenings or early morning for lap swimming. April (and sometime Emily or Allison) would go out running with Kyle.

The differentials for swim/bike/run were 0:08/3:58/2:59. The kids beat her in all 3. But it is totally different doing only one than all three, so maybe a challenge for next year?
In the relay category, they placed 5th out of 8 teams. Considering all the other teams were adults, that is pretty good.
swim 10:12
bike 54:59
run 27:15
total 1:32:26
Good job guys.
