We have been having a lot of fun this summer. With Friday's off for Tye and the kids out of school we have been trying to do more things.
Camping in Payson
One way to get out of the heat (it was about 115 degrees today) is to go north to Payson - about 90 minutes away - where it is about 25 degrees cooler.
Here are some pictures. We met up with April's cousins up there and camped two nights. By the second night, April and I were both sleeping decently, but the kids were starting to show signs of wear. Our last day there was July 4th and we went into town to enjoy the festivities and picnic. They had races and activities (like 3-legged races, potato sack races, etc.) at the city park. The kids (and April) participated and had a lot of fun.
We also visited the fish hatchery, which was pretty close to the campsite. The kids enjoyed seeing all the fish.
A
Lake Fun
There are several lakes nearby. This time we ventured to Saguaro Lake, about 45 minutes away. While it was wet and the mountains around it were pretty, the water was a little dirty. The kids didn't care though and we swam most of the day away with a picnic lunch in the middle. It wasn't too crowded. Fridays are a good day to go do things without as many people around. I hope the kids didn't catch anything in the water...
Below a a picture of Carter. You can see everyone else in the background (except April who is taking the picture).

Looks like you all had a lot of fun. I love the look on Allison's face in the first picture. So sweet......and innocent...:)
Glad you guys have found some spots to cool off at. Looks like you all had a fun time. Heard it was going to be 116 degrees today in Phoenix.
